Bengaluru, Jul 14: People of Karnataka coast, who have been carrying on attack against chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, for neglecting coastal districts when announcing the state budget through the twitter, have now opened a Facebook page with the title, 'H D Kumaraswamy not my CM'. This page is used to express indignation and protest against the way the coast was subjected to raw deal in the budget vis-a-vis other districts.
Through the page, people have been questioning whether coastal districts are not part of Karnataka. Some have expressed anger at neglecting the welfare of fishermen in the budget. Pointed questions like whether the region does not have a share in the exchequer of the state, and why loans raised by poor fisherwomen have not been waived, are posed. Many have wondered why the chief minister is silent over the problem of sea erosion that is playing with the lives of people living near the sea. To express their protest, the words, 'H D Kumaraswamy is not my CM' is written below each of the questions posed to him.
'Jai Bhargava Balaga' had undertaken twitter war against the chief minister on July 10 on the issue of injustice faced by coastal Karnataka in the state budget. An effort was made to spread the information about the injustice through the hashtag, 'budget divides Karnataka'. In addition to commoners, legislators like Sunil Kumar, Raghupati Bhat, Harish Poonja, C T Ravi, Rajesh Naik Ulipady, and B M Sukumar Shetty had extended their support to this plan with their tweets.
