SIT to probe minor boy's death in J&K


Srinagar, Jul 20 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe a minor boy's death in Kupwara district.

Umar Farooq's body was discovered in an orchard in Kupwara on Thursday. He had gone missing from Gulgam village three days back.

A police statement issued on Friday said the SIT would be headed by an Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) and supervised by a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) from Kupwara.

The police has sought cooperation of the general public in the probe.
