Mangalore, Oct 7: The Sangh Parivar has always promoted the caste system in the country. Therefore, Dalits have been exploited and not been recognized as Hindus by the organization. The Parivar has been creating enmity between dalits and the minority community, accused Sunilkumar Bajal, city secretary, CPI (M) on Sunday October 5.s

Speaking at a Dalit empowerment camp organized in the city, he said that Dalits are becoming victims of the caste system and finding themselves in prison because of the provocation of RSS leaders. Awareness has to be created among the Dalit community, added Bajal.

The globalization process has put Dalits in economic difficulty, worsening their lives, he opined. Progressive thinker Krishna Konchady, Maruti Manpade and K Mahantesh, spoke on the occasion.

Vasudev J P, convener of Dalita Horata Samiti, presided over the function. Lingappa Nantoor welcomed the gathering. Duggappa Urvastore proposed the vote of thanks.
