Bengaluru, Jul 21: A man who suspected that his wife was having a relationship with another man and strangled her over an argument on the same issue. This incident occurred on the night of Thursday, July 19 at Laggere near Rajagopalanagar in the north part of the city.
The deceased is identified as Soumya (29), wife of Jagadish (46), the alleged killer.
Both Soumya and Jagadish are said to be natives of Mysuru and had been living in Bengaluru since one year. They have a five-year-old son, who is left behind at Mysuru in his grandmother's care.
Jagadish had a doubt in his mind that Soumya is having an extra-marital relationship with one of her friends and this led to frequent quarrels between the couple. On the night of Thursday, it is alleged that Jagadish had a heated argument with Soumya over the long hours when she was hooked on to her mobile texting and talking.
Jagadish hit Soumya's face which made her go off-balance and she fell on the floor. Then he throttled her neck with his foot, as per the information given by the police.
After the act, Jagadish walked into the police station and handed himself over to the police. The police who rushed to the house of the couple shifted the victim to the nearby hospital but she was declared brought dead.
Jagadish has been remanded to judicial custody by the magistrate.
