Bantwal, Oct 7: Tension prevailed at Tumbe junction for some time on the national highway 48, after a huge crowd gathered there, in protest against the action of a few miscreants in tearing and pulling down a few banners erected there, on Tuesday October 7.

The banners, erected in connection with the Sharadotsav celebrations, were placed along the national highway at Tumbe. The miscreants tore down three banners in the wee hours of Tuesday October 7.

A huge crowd gathered at the Tumbe junction immediately after the news spread in and around the village. Police resorted to caning to disperse the mob, sensing trouble.
