Udupi: Karnataka Bank to Adopt Amasebail—A G Kodgi

Udupi, Oct 8:
A G Kodgi, chairman of the state’s third finance commission, announced in a press conference held at Circuit House on Tuesday October 7, that Karnataka Bank will adopt Amasebail region, predominantly sustaining on farming.
 
Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa will inaugurate the Amasebail Charitable Trust and rural development programmes at 11.00 am on Friday October 10.
 
Union minister of state for abour and employment Oscar Fernandes, state home minister Dr V S Acharya, Karnataka Bank chairman and chief executive officer Ananthakrishna, state rural development minister Shobha Karandlaje, people’s representatives and other ministers, will be present on the occasion, added Kodgi. 
 
Karnataka Bank aims to transform the whole locality within five years. It plans to provide permanent houses to all families, drinking water, electricity supply, nutritious food to BPL families, safeguard health, provide primary and high school education to students, life insurance, and employment to deserving candidates.
 
The most basic needs of roads and water supply will be undertaken on priority basis in all localities of Amasebail. Amasebail has 1,600 families with three revenue villages. Amasebail has 181 BPL families and 220 poor families while Macchattu village has 88 BPL families and 230 poor families and Rattady has 86 BPL families and 121 poor families.  Macchattu village comes under Byndoor legislative assembly and Shimoga parliamentary assembly constituencies, while Rattady comes under Udupi and Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituencies and Kundapur legislative assembly constituency.
