Class 2 student allegedly beaten up by teacher

Kolkata, Jul 24 (IANS): A Class 2 student was allegedly beaten up by a teacher in a reputed private school here, police said on Tuesday, adding that the matter was being investigated.

"We have received a complaint from the parents of the student. The school administration is also looking into it," said a police officer.

The parents alleged that their child was almost unconscious when a pool car owner called them and informed them about the boy's condition. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

"I heard the bell ringing and picked up my bag for which my Ma'am slapped me, pulled my ears and hair," said the eight-year-old boy.
