Modi personally re-negotiated Rafale deal: Rahul

New Delhi, Jul 24 (IANS): Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on Rafale deal, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday claimed that he had personally re-negotiated the deal with France and none of the four "revolving" Defence Ministers knew anything about it.

"Since 2014, India has had 4 revolving Raksha Mantris. Now we know why. It gave the PM space to personally re-negotiate RAFALE with the French.

"India has had 4 "RAFALE Mantris". But, none of them know what really transpired in France. Except the PM. But he won't speak!" he said in a series ot tweets.

Congress on Tuesday gave a notice to Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to move a privilege motion against Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for allegedly misleading the House by not revealing the price of the Rafale fighter jets bought from France.

    Anything that belongs to Reliance is allowed to go beyond convention in our country . For instance:
    PM himself can renegotiate the deals, PM himself can endorse Jio, Defense deal can be awarded to a company without a day's experience in the relevant business, Institute of Eminence status can be granted to a institute that exists only on paper.
    There could be scores of more such undisclosed examples.

    In 2008 when UPA government concluded the agreement for 126 Rafales for 12 Billion dollars! BJP and Modiji had made a huge noise saying that these fighters are not proven in battle nor any other country has bought them! They also told that There were much cheaper fighters available elsewhere!. Do you remember that!?. Now its other way round!. What answers they had sought are being sought from BJP today!. Now what you say!?. Didnt BJP knew there is a secrecy clause then!?

    when same deal happened cheaper where was the clause???
    when the deal went to HAL -bangalore government owned not reliance ambani owned where was the clause?
    BJP is just robbing india with ambanis and modis and choksi with this secrecy...
