Mangalore: St Christopher Association of Suratkal Celebrates Annual Feast

Mangalore, Oct 9:
The annual feast, blessing of vehicles, and annual general body meeting of the St Christopher Association of Sacred Heart church, Suratkal, was recently held on the church premises.
 
Fr Antony Lobo, parish priest, Sacred Heart church, offered the festive mass along with Fr Charles Menezes. They also blessed the vehicles which were parked in large numbers in the church’s parking lot. The vehicles belonged to parishioners from Suratkal, Mukka, Katipalla, and Pezar.
 
Fr Lobo awarded prizes to Aurelia D’Souza and Jessy D’Souza, the winners of the essay competition. Afterwards, the annual general body meeting of the Association was held in the church auditorium. St Christopher Association of Suratkal is an association of vehicle owners and drivers of the parishes of Suratkal, Mukka, Katipalla, and Pezar.


 
Fr Lobo, spiritual director, addressed the members and called upon them to come together and strive for progress. Urban D’Souza, association president, welcomed the gathering.  Russell Roche, secretary, presented the annual report. S Naveen D’Souza, treasurer, presented the annual accounts.  Celine D’Souza, joint secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. William Mascarenhas, and George Ligoury D’Souza compered the programme.
 
The new office-bearers elected for a one year term are Celine D’Souza, Mukka (president), Gretta Pinto, Suratkal (vice-president), George Ligoury D’Souza, Suratkal (secretary), Russel Roche, Suratkal (joint secretary), S Naveen D’Souza, Suratkal (treasurer), Pius Vincent D Souza, Mukka (organizing secretary), and William Mascarenhas, Suratkal (auditor).
