Question is about what kind of industrialists: Congress on PM Modi’s remarks

New Delhi, Jul 30 (NIE): Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was not afraid of being seen with industrialists as his intentions were noble, the opposition Congress on Sunday said it would leave it to the Prime Minister’s wisdom whether it is appropriate for him to be photographed with people who have allegedly ripped off the Indian banking system.

“The question is not about capitalists or industrialists. The question is about what kind of capitalists or industrialists? If the Prime Minister feels that it is all right to be photographed with those people, who have allegedly ripped off the Indian banking system and taken off to Antigua, to London or probably disappeared from the face of the earth, then I leave it to the wisdom of the Prime Minister whether he considers appropriate to lend legitimacy and respectability to such people,” Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said.

He also took objection to the Prime Minister’s remarks that Mahatma Gandhi never hesitated in staying with Birla family as his intentions were pure.

Addressing a press conference, Tewari said it was astonishing that the Prime Minister compared himself to Mahatma Gandhi.

“It is unfortunate because no politician should compare himself to the Father of the Nation. He said that even Mahatma Gandhi used to carry industrialists with him. Again, the question is what kind of industrialists?” he said adding those industrialists who stood by the Mahatma were ready to sacrifice everything they had for the freedom of India.

“They were not those industrialists, who had gamed the banking system and run away with thousands of crores of public money… so there are industrialists and industrialists and therefore you have to make a distinction between what kind of industrialist or capitalist are you going to patronise,” he said.

He said the Congress was not against industrialists or capitalists but was against crony capitalists and crony capitalism “What we are against is the nexus between the suit and the boot. The suit boot ki sarkar… when the Government functions for the benefit of a few at the cost of many.”

Tewari said the Prime Minister and the government should apologise to the people for misleading them during the 2014 campaign making all sorts of promises, including creation of jobs, “which they have proven themselves to be completely and absolutely incapable of fulfiling.”

Referring to BJP president Amit Shah’s statement — made in an interview to The Indian Express — that the government has given 12 crore Mudra loans, he said: “The question is not 12 crore Mudra loans, the question is how many sustainable livelihoods have those 12 crore Mudra loans created?”

One question from where Mr.Modi got thousands of Crores for 2014 election. Was the money black or white? In 2014 Congress was struggling for fund despite being in power, whereas many crores were being spent on every meeting and live telecast of Modi's meeting.

The word ‘Modi’, no doubt, is a synonym for ‘Jumla’. He came to power claiming that he is the son of a Chaiwala and, therefore, the messiah of the masses. But after coming to power he dedicated his tenure serving his tycoon cronies. He is being hailed as the new Reagan of India. He started implementing the Modinomics which is akin to Reaganomics.

The only thing Modi has been doing ever since he came to power is manipulating the cognitive map of the people & creating a delusion that he is striving hard for the ordinary people. The fact remains that he is working hard to benefit his plutocrat cronies, who have liberally been providing him with campaign financing.

He has been trying his level best to transform the Indian democracy as a ‘government of the 1%, for the 1% & by the 1%’. He established the Corporate Hindutva fascist government, by which the Dalits are dehumanized & cows are humanized. Even his economic advisers say that the tycoons can freely flaunt their wealth even after defaulting on their loans just because their liability is limited. And the Modi sahab says ‘ease of doing business’ is ‘ease of living’ implying that his tycoon cronies are the only creatures who are entitled to enjoy ‘ease of living’. The democide of the people in Tuticorin, who took to streets to protest against the toxic Sterlite copper plant, proved that his ease of doing business rhetoric is proving to be counterproductive to the ordinary people.

He has so far given a lot to his tycoon cronies by showering them with bailouts, & unlimited ease of doing business, which enabled them to defraud the PSBs & thereafter get safe passages. All that the poor & ordinary people could get from his government are colorful bank notes, impressive slogans, outstanding speeches, dazzling spectacles, & empty promises. In an essence Modi regime has become a pure, sheer & unadulterated Jumla. Long live Jumla Modi.

And “Jai Hindi- ‘upper caste’ Hindu-Hindustan & Bharat Mata Ki Jai” lest I should be branded as anti-national.

If someone is in the group photo with Modi and then, later on, commits some offence, Congress is saying Modi is a partner to this. It is nonsense.

Either you've got your facts wrong or you are attempting to mislead the readers. PMO was alerted in writing about NiMo cum Mehul Bhai's fraud way back in July 2016 and the complaint was duly acknowledged by PMO. And NiMo appeared in that infamous photograph with NaMo in Feb 2018 at Davos.

Taking bank loans certainly not a crime, but Chowkidar looking the other way with gate wide open when certain friends fleeing with the loot is something the Mahatma wouldn't approve of and when 24 % of the country's population reeling below poverty line, increase in number of super rich billionaires from 63 (2013) to 136 (2017) is something that Mahatma wouldn't be proud of.

    Dr Saab,
On a lighter side..., control your BP and read the below points -

Without countering your point of view, let me enlighten you with fact check..,

The irony is that the industrialist those who stand next to our honorable PM, are getting high level immunity from federal investigative agencies...,
One more point is - all these industrialist are heavily indebted to Hindustan's public sector banks...,

As per published financial report (Group include all companies under their control)-

Reliance (Mukesh Ambani Group) : More than 180,000 Crores
ADAG (Anil Ambani Group) -More than 100,000 crores (more than couple of banks already black listed from further lending)
Videocon (Venugopal Doot) - 30,000+ crores
    Essar (Ruia) - 75,000 crores
Gitanjali Gems (Mehul bhai + Nirav Modi) - 12,000+ crores
ADANI (Gautam Adani Group) - 100,000+ crores
    Alok Industries (Jiwrajka) - 22,000 +crores

Hindus (means all those who live within Hindustan)must take note of these few big Gujarat based Companies..., they accumulated their aggregate borrowing under various group companies over the years specially since 2002...,

My sane thinking don't acknowledge our honorable PM's statement that he find no shame to stand next to them(that too with these kind of co's)....,

union govt must check with tiny nations like St Kits & Navis, Antigua to know how many of above Hindustani business men got their passport under investment route...,

The above data is available in the public domain.., Nothing un-official about it...

talking only about DOMBARATA....!!!! to keep bhakt's in cheerful mode...!!!

    jh
    jai hind..,
