Mangaluru: Carmel School holds annual general body meeting

Mangaluru, Aug 1: Carmel School in the city held its annual general body meeting for the primary section at the school auditorium on Tuesday July 31 in the morning and for the secondary section later in the day.

PTA general body meetings are occasions for participation and communication. On this special occasion parents and teachers felt the need to commit themselves to
the service of education for this noble endeavour with the blessings of the Lord Almighty. Blessings were sought followed by a prayer dance led by the students of classes III and IV in the morning and the students of classes VI, VII and IX in the afternoon which spread spiritual vibes creating a state of trance with their magnetic performance.



Ashwitha Bangera and Liffin Saldanha extended a genial welcome to Sr Maria Kripa joint secretary of St Ann’s Campus Institutions and Superior of St Ann’s Convent and Lugina Miranda the keynote speaker for the morning session and Mariella D'Souza the keynote speaker for the afternoon session with their words of welcome.

Kausalya and Sonia read out the annual report that provided the parents with a snapshot of their school system and summarized key facts. Nisha and Cynthia introduced the resource persons to the gathering. Resource person of the morning Lugina Miranda (course coordinator for postgraduate diploma in Guidance and Counseling, St Agnes Centre) shared her thoughts on Positive Parenting – Parental Skills in everyday life.

Mariella D'Souza (associate professor at Kasturba Medical College Hospital, Attavar, Mangaluru) delivered an inspiring talk on 'The Parent’s Life is the Child’s Copybook'.

Grade X toppers of 2017-18 were honoured. Sr Maria Kripa felicitated them for their milestone achievements in the field of academics.

Sr Sarika the principal in her motivating address gave the necessary directions to the parents. The sessions were flawlessly compered by Lara and Lolita.
