Militants fire at security forces in Kashmir


Srinagar, Aug 1 (IANS): Militants on Wednesday fired at security forces laying a cordon in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district.

Police said the security personnel were laying the cordon around Chek Choland village when the militants opened fire in an apparent bid to escape.

Reinforcements were rushed to the village to strengthen the security operation.
