On his birthday, Amitabh Bachchan taken to Nanavati Hospital

Mumbai, Oct 11: According to Times Now report, Bachchan had complained of stomach pain since last night.

He was taken to the Nanavati Hospital, which has been cordoned off by police since they expect a large number of fans to come there.

However, the Bachchan family said that he had been taken to the hospital for routine check-up.

The superstar had taken a break from shooting to spend the day with his grand children who have come over from Delhi for their Dussehra-Diwali vacation.

Bachchan’s family members, including his actor son Abhishek, daughter-in-law Aishwariya Rai Bachchan and daughter Shweta Nanda accompanied the superstar at the hospital.

Eyewitnesses said that Bachchan was seen taken into the hospital on a stretcher.

Film producer and friend Manoj Desai said there was no need to panic.

"He is undergoing routine check-up at the hospital," Desai said outside Bachchan's Juhu residence.

Earlier in December 2005, Amitabh Bachchan was successfully operated upon for infection, inflammation and perforation in his small and large intestines at Leelavati hospital.

Bachchan was admitted to Escorts Hospital in New Delhi on November 28, 2005 following complaint of abdominal pain and was brought to Leelavati Hospital, where he underwent treatment for almost two months.
