‘Beef’ on Virat Kohli and Indian team’s lunch menu at Lord’s irks some on Twitter

London, Aug 12(DC): While the Lord’s cricket ground has been home to some of the biggest cricket games, including the World Cup finals, the iconic venue often grabs the attention for their lunch menu for the teams.

The variety it has on offer has often been the talking point. The case has been no different during the ongoing Test between England and India.

However, a food item on Lord’s lunch menu for the players irked some of the cricket fans in India.

After Mohammed Shami managed to put India in front in the first session on Day three, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) tweeted a picture of the lunch menu, saying, A well earned Lunch for #TeamIndia. You prefer? #ENGvIND.”

While there was grilled chicken, chicken tikka curry, paneer tikka curry, dahl makhani, chocolate mousse and more, a presence of ‘braised beef pasta’ did not go down well with some of the Indian Twitter users.

    Is there any country where beef is not eaten? If animals are treated as mother how can you control their population.After 2 years people will stop farming because of uncontrollable increase of cattle. Prently road side veritable vendors facing sever problem to protect their vegitables due to increas of cattle population.

    If the players have a problem with beef, let them not eat it. Why should the fans worry about what the players are served? We Indians never learn our lessons. We want to poke our nose into everything. In Chinese restaurants mixed fried rice is served with pork, but does anyone object to having that item on the menu card? No. Then why the so called cricket fans in India should bother about what is served to cricket players in the UK. Let us mind our own business and let the British mind theirs.

Lot of people who don't eat beef happily wallop mixed fried rice that contains beef and many go for seconds even after being told the mix contains pieces of beef. A ll this natak only started after the beef janata party got into the election fray just before the 2014 elections. the scumbags used every trick in the book to brainwash even some educated people with their divisive politics even though many of them hogged beef!
