Exhibition unveils events in Delhi during partition

New Delhi, Aug 15 (IANS): A four-day exhibition that unveils the events in Delhi during the partition in 1947 is open at the India Habitat Centre (IHC) here.

Titled "My Heart Belongs in Delhi", the exhibition has been curated by the 1947 Partition Archive, an initiative that documents the collective history of the sub-continent's Partition.

On display are personal stories of those who fled their ancestral city for Pakistan, and of those who arrived as refugees in 1947.

It chronicles the Delhi that is known today, through the Delhi that was.

It narrates the fascinating transformation of Delhi through an audio-visual installation, as well as an interactive map where Delhiites can see their family's own migration routes, the organisers said in a statement.

The oral histories were gathered by Archive volunteers.

The exhibition has been curated by art historian Arshiya Lokhandwala. It will conclude on Friday.
