Congress to launch month-long agitation over Modi government 'scams'

New Delhi, Aug 19 (IANS): The Congress on Saturday said that it will launch a month-long nationwide agitation from next week on what it said was "Rafale scam" of the Modi government and other issues.

Congress sources said that the party will hold around 80 press conferences, to be addressed by its Spokespersons and senior leaders, across the country on the Rafale aircraft deal inked with France and other issues.

The Rafale deal came up for discussion at a meeting of Congress General Secretaries, party in-charges of states, legislative party leaders and state unit chiefs, which was presided over by Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

The meeting discussed the party's preparations for the Assembly polls this year in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram.

Briefing reporters later, Congress Communications incharge Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the meeting discussed "political challenges in the election-bound states".

He said the Congress will launch an agitation to highlight "bhrashtachar ka khel, Rafale" (corruption in Rafale deal) that allegedly caused a loss of Rs 41,000 crore to the exchequer.

"It was decided that the scams of the Modi government, particularly the Rafale scam, will be taken to the people of India. In the next 30 days, Congress workers will fan out and hold district and state-level demonstrations," Surjewala said.

He alleged that a contract in the Rafale deal had been "snatched away" from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, a public sector undertaking.

Surjewala said that party leaders, including Congress Working Committee members, General Secretaries and Secretaries, will approach people at block, district and state levels and "ensure that a fair and independent probe and a JPC (joint parliamentary committee) probe into the Rafale deal is constituted immediately."

"We will push the government. We will not stop, we will not be deterred," Surjewala said.

Party sources said that a team has been formed to coordinate the efforts.

Yes we know BJP Government most of the ministers are highly corrupt and they know that there won't be IT raids example Janarardhan Reddy during the period of demonetization,no one dared ask him how he got so much money to spend, they can go to any extent . So BJP too is not a clean party, our watchman is sleeping when it comes to see the welfare of BJP ministers. If such a disaster like Kerala would have hit BJP ruled states the PM would declare it as a national disaster.
So I am now totally hating this ruling biased Government.

Pappu had changed Rafeal delas value 5 times in this month. There is no scams under Modi. Even French president himself sent letter that there is nothing wrong in deal. Still he keeps talking about it. Why not he is going to court? simply doing dombarata. This question is for everyone. why he is not going to court like Subramamian swamy did in National Herald scam?!

Where did you see Rahul has changed Rafale deal 5 times!?. Don't write anything feku you want!. One thing is very clear, price of Rafale was 560 crores but now it's 1500 plus!. This extra price is given so that Rafale in the name of offset, gives the same to Reliance!. Modiji wanted to repay Reliance directly which is not possible!. Now by this route 30000 crores is given to Reliance and no body knows for what!. Reliance and government will tell this deal inbetween Dassault and Reliance! Very clever!. Secondly, since all the 36 planes are brought from France in fly away condition, what Reliance will manufacture with that money!?. Lol Pal is kept in cold storage only for the purpose of keeping scams out of public eyes!!!. Please don't try to fool us by saying 'go to court!!!. We all know how many such cases are in court and what courts have done!!!!

I think INC has not getting anything to talk about. So they prejudice that this might be scam. At least show us proof like you always asked in everything from this government. Give this topic to Mr. Aiyyar & Mr. Chidam. The more they talk near to election the better BJP will gain. I don't know when INC will be able to learn under the winking star. I'm frustrated with my party. I was rooting for INC upto now but there is no better time than now to desert it. They need to learn from BJP on how, when, where to speak on issues. Poor are with BJP, and that's the maximum vote share. Look here itself, only 5to 10 are permanent guardians of INC, & they are regular in all topics.
