Hubballi: Accused Amit Baadi's mother claims son's innocence in Gauri murder case

Daijiworld Media Network - Hubballi

Hubballi, Aug 23: Jayashri Baddi, mother Amit Ramachandra Baddi, who was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with Gauri Lankesh’s murder, claimed that the police are unnecessarily troubling her son.

Asserting that her son is innocent, the mother of the 27-year-old said that he was arrested earlier in a rowdy-sheeter case but the charges are not yet proven.

Childhood friends Amit Baddi and Ganesh Miskin were arrested by SIT on July 24 from Hubballi. Both have been arrested earlier in a group clash which happened in Kasaba Peth police station limits during Shivaji Jayanti in 2013. They had allegedly pelted stones and instigated others as well and the cops had registered a case under the Goonda Act.

Jayashri had earlier told the media that her son’s arrest was a case of mistaken identity.
