BJP-RSS trying to divide, spread hatred in India: Rahul

New Delhi, Aug 24 (IANS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi has lambasted the BJP and RSS, saying they were working "to divide and spread hatred" in India.

Gandhi made the statement while addressing the Indian Overseas Congress on Thursday in Berlin, the Congress said on Friday. His address was not aired live due to a technical glitch.

Interacting with the Indian-origin parliamentarians, Gandhi said that "the government which is now ruling in India, the Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, want to divide and spread hatred in the country. The Congress party will not let this happen".

Gandhi said the strength of India lies in listening to the views of every citizen, despite religion, section of the society and caste.

    BJP respecting last wish of Atalji by immersing his ashes across the country as Atalji belonged to the entire big respect unlike Dongis who disrespected Narasimha Rao during his life time and even after his death. Dongis are father of nation in Fekugiri from time of Nehru / Gandhi

    Modi is totally biased, he cannot declare Kerala floods as a national disaster , he has only sanctioned 500 cr to the state and he did not approve any other country to help the people of Kerala. It's a pity that India is having such a PM who is thinking of dividing India.
    PMs people are telling to help only Hindus who don't eat beef, very sensitive statement and no action taken against such activist.
    So if such issues are supported by the ruling govt.we should pray only for peace as this country will be going to be divided and uncertainty.... Civil war will erupt for sure if this Govt stllt rules.

    500 or 600 crores was interim relief. Central government has said more funds will be disbursed later.
    There is wide spread destruction and a lot of rebuilding is required. Obviously a lot of money is required. Rebuilding follows rescue and relief. Funds have to be utilised well and benefit those seriously affected by the floods.
    Tagging it as national disaster means nothing. Call it anything. What's important and essential is that distressed people get the aid and that has been promised. Rebuilding requires judicial planning to ensure damage is minimised in case of similar rains in future. No point squandering money in a hurry calling it a national disaster for political upmanship.

    RSS in forefront!?

    Last time when Nepal had a earthquake, these people put photos saying RSS working in Nepal for earthquake relief! Later it turned out to be a lie and Nepal government itself clarified that no RSS workers are involved in relief work in Nepal!.

    Similarly Uttarkand they lied about RSS help and that too proved false!. Kerala also the reality will come very soon as the photos may be old and of some other work carried out by RSS!!!. Why these people want to spread lies!?

    While you are busy in Germany, RSS is dividing people in flood hit Kerala. Uniting force Congress didn’t seem anywhere in Kerala nor its senior leader. Some busy in spreading propaganda on UAE aid, while UAE categorically said there is no official statement yet on aid. First Kerala Govt should control officials and coin cadre from looting aid fund n materials.

    UAE offered the aid, but our PM refused to accept it and told the UAE leaders that he will bare all the loss from the disaster fund. But our PM never bothered to declare the floods of Kerala a national disaster. Very very biased act by our PM.
