Mangaluru: Gadkari tells officials to make Shiradi Ghat motorable within a week

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Aug 28: Minister for road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari, has asked the officials to make the Shiradi Ghat road motorable within a week. He also wanted the Pumpwell flyover here to be completed within four months.

This was informed by Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, Nalin Kumar Kateel.

On Monday, a meeting in the office of minister Gadkari at Transport Bhavan New Delhi was held with the participation of senior officials of National Highways Authority of India, Kateel, and four legislators from Karnataka took part in the meeting. At the high level meeting, Gadkari asked the officials to address highway-related problems in undivided Dakshina Kannada district on priority.

The MP and legislators urged the minister to address Shiradi Ghat problem on a war footing as Mangaluru in turning into an island as all approach roads have extensively been damaged. Gadkari left strict instructions to officials to address Shiradi Ghat issues within a week, Kateel told the media persons after the meeting.

Kateel was accompanied by Sullia MLA, Angara, Beltangady MLA, Harish Punja, Puttur MLA, Sanjeev Matandoor, and city (north) legislator Bharat Shetty.

Kateel also said that the problem of delay in completing highway 66 four-lane work from Kundapur to Talapady, and slow execution of Pumpwell flyover work were brought to the notice of the minister. He said that the officials and Navayuga Company executing the road works have been given strict instructions to complete flyover work within four months.

When he raised the topic of problems relating to widening of highway for four km on national highway between B C Road and Hassan, Gadkari asked officials of his department to hold meeting with Karnataka chief minister, forest minister, and officials of forest department. He also promised to discuss with officials the request to close tollgates at B C Road and Mukka, Kateel said.

Belthangady MLA seen prominently in the picture looks explaining central Minister about Pumpwell circle problem, BC Road problem and Shirady Ghat Problem as explained in this news. But, does Belthangadi MLA need to be reminded about Guruvayankere 9 feet wide current conjusted and accident pron national highway awaiting approval for widening from same Central Minister, yet ?

I don’t understand what Belthangadi MLA talking to Central Minister in the above picture?, as I dont see one single problem of Belthangadi is highlighted in this news?, that means nothing he spoke about his own constituency ?

This message is not directly by Gadkari to Media. It is a parcel message by the same MP who now and then talk about burning the city without using petrol.
So you can imagine how much Gas in this message and How much Oil in the content.
Shiradi will take few years to get fixed and Kerala,Coorge will take few months if the Malayali Brothers repair themselves or if they depend on PM then take few years.

The Gadha expects the Shiradi Ghat to be made motorable within a week when he takes one week to change his khaki chaddi i.e. 1 day to remove the belt, 1 day to ope the buttons, 1 day to pull the chaddi down; 1 day to put on the new chaddi, 1 day to fasten the buttons, 1 day to adjust the chaddi and 1 day to put on the belt!

With a deep tunnel through the western Ghats, Mangaluru deserves a beautiful & serene expressway to Bangaluru. Our second to none beaches like Goa would attract more tourists then. Hotel industry will flourish and business will improve.
For that impossible to happen ,we need a passionate and potent MP like George Fernandis who dreampt & lived big on Konkan railway.

Dear Minister, MP & other officials, by hurrying to open Shiradi Ghats to public, are we inviting more trouble with putting people on a high risk?? Within a week, is that a piece of road that is gong to be repaired? It is going to be humanly impossible to repair such a huge stretch of ghat road within a week's time.
It would be advisable for our Hon. M P & other legislative representatives to travel by this road n see for themselves if road can be motorable within a week.

    Good Luck anyways .

Mr. Prabhu, there is no use trying to put some sense into these nonsensical cry babies. Anybody can see through these creative minds, full of negativities, blaming Modi, BJP & Nalin, even for petty domestic issues like having arguments with their wives. This platform in the form of Daiji, has given them a free run. Mr. Gadkari is among the best performing Ministers ever in areas of port & surface infrastructure developments which is beyond their comprehension.
