Delhi Consumers' Cooperative store donates Rs 9 lakh for Kerala


New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS): The Delhi Consumers' Cooperative Wholesale Store (DCCWS) on Tuesday donated over Rs 9 lakh for the Kerala relief fund, a Delhi government official said.

"The Chairman of DCCWS met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the Delhi Secretariat and handed over a cheque of Rs 9.51 lakh," the official said.

As many as 417 people have lost their lives ever since monsoon rains began lashing Kerala on May 29, with some 8.69 lakh displaced people sheltered in 2,787 relief camps.
