Massive blaze at Army camp in J&K's Kupwara district


Srinagar, Aug 28 (IANS): A major fire broke out at an Army camp near the Line of Control in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, police sources said.

The fire was reported at 45 Rashtriya Rifles headquarters in Hamar Gali area in Machil Sector due to short circuit around 1 p.m., the sources said.

"The fire engulfed many structures in the camp where large quantities of fuel, firearms and ammunition are stored. The blaze was triggered by a short circuit. Sabotage has been ruled out so far."

Efforts are on to douse the flames.
