Moodbidri: Dharun of Alva’s clinches silver at Asian Games

Moodbidri, Aug 28: Dharun Ayyaswamy bagged a silver medal in 400m hurdles in Asian Games at Jakarta, Indonesia on Monday, August 27. He completed the track in 48.96 seconds scaling the national record.

Dharun Ayyaswamy, at present, is a student of 3rd year BHRD at Alva’s College. He has represented India in 2016 Rio Olympics and even 2017 Commonwealth Games.

Dharun has also represented Mangalore University in 400m hurdles and has bagged Gold for three times with group record. For his achievement, Mangalore University has felicitated him with Rs 1,00,000 cash prize.

Mangalore University and Alva’s Education Foundation will jointly organize the 79th National Athletics Championship 2018-19 at Moodbidri. Alva’s Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva said, a felicitation programme has been arranged for Asian Hames silver medal winner Dharun during the event.
