Rekha Devi K inaugurated the book exhibition by lighting the lamp and offered tribute to Dr S R Ranganathan, along with the other dignitaries.

Addressing the gathering she said, "A library is just like a mirror in the field of education which reflects the growth and decline of education. The books in the library do not limit themselves only to knowledge, but they should be an inspiration for self analysis and transform individuals into better learners, readers and discover the path for free flow of knowledge. Books can be better companions in life. The use of modern technology has reduced writing and reading skills among students. There is a need to strengthen the relationship between students and books.

The principal Fr Michael Santhumayor in his presidential message said that students should make use of the library and also take initiative in writing book reviews.

Around 1000 books were exhibited. Students of Milagres CBSE School, High School and Degree College visited the Book Fair 2018 and benefited from the same.

English lecturer and library assistant co-ordinator Nayana K welcomed the gathering. Librarian Pramila D’Souza, proposed the vote of thanks. Riana D'Cunha compered the programme.

What a pleasure to know that Milagres has organized a "BOOK FAIR" exhibiting nearly 1000 Books for the benefit of all those that have keenly attended the Conference in order to familiarize themselves with variety of Books that are available at the College for public reading.

We wish we had known about this "Book Fair" earlier because we could have donated five sets of our own Books that we published two years ago with a title called "I'll Cry Tomorrow". This is a thick two volume "Memoir" of our life of nearly eighty years that we have dedicated in six countries and seven cities.
This "Memoire" is in fact dedicated to my wife as a memento of love for all her kindness and dedication to me for nearly 55 years of our married life.

The most interesting feature of this Book is that although that Book was totally written by myself abroad, it was transmitted by internet, page by page, from Texas and was printed in Mangalore. We are willing to donate five sets of our above Book to the "Lucky Door Prize" Winner. If the Book Fair remains open for few more days, please let us know by sending us an email to our address: maxr1@mindspring.com immediately so that we can arrange to delver five sets, duly autographed, in favor of five lucky door prize winners that the Organizers will have to create without any kind of abnormality. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
