Bengaluru’s Magic Feet wins 5th All India Under-15 Football tournament

Bengaluru, Aug 29: The 5th Denz Foundation All India Under-15 Football Tournament for boys was won by Bengaluru team Magic Feet who beat Imphal 5-0 to lift the trophy in convincing style recently at Active Arena grounds. The winners received a cash prize of Rs 40,000 while the runners up were given Rs 30,000 with trophy and medals. In the tussle for the 3rd and 4th place, the second string of Magic Feet beat Manipur 3-0.

The most popular tournament, now in its 5th year had 50 teams taking part in the two-day five-a-side tournament. Teams from Dehradun, Manipur, Imphal, Nagpur, Kerala, Ooty, Mumbai and Karnataka took part in the prestigious tournament which was first organized in 2014 to support young footballers of India. Denzil Fernandes, chairman of Denz Foundation, expressed great satisfaction seeing that some of the players have gone to play at higher level after playing in the Bengaluru tournament.

Played in perfect conditions, each and every match turned out be well fought with youngsters exhibiting their skills in great fashion. The tournament organized by Denz Foundation of Bengaluru, since 2014 has given an opportunity for many youngsters to grow and play at the national level.

Individual awards: Best Goalkeeper Bipin Singh (Magic Feet A), Best Defender Rahul Singh (Magic Feet B), Best Midfielder Anto (FC Cosmos United, Best Forward Benus (Manipur), Best player of the finals Milan (Imphal) and Best Player of the Tournament Ton Don M (Magic Feet A)

The trophies and medals were distributed by Elvis Joseph, director, Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation, and a host of other guests after the finals.
