Landslides block Jammu-Srinagar highway

Jammu, Aug 30 (IANS): Landslides in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district blocked the strategic Jammu-Srinagar highway again on Thursday, officials said.

Traffic department officials said fresh landslides in Battery Chashma area of Ramban district disrupted the movement of traffic.

"The operation is under progress to clear the highway and we expect the traffic to be restored soon," officials said.

Landslides in Panthal sector of Ramban had closed the highway for two days earlier this week.
