Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Sep 1: "Hundreds of families have been driven to streets in Kodagu because of torrential rains there. My people who have lost everything are in distress. Therefore, the gold medal which I won at the Asian Games is being dedicated to the displaced people of Kodagu," said member of Indian 4x400 relay team which annexed gold, M R Poovamma.

Speaking from Jakarta, Poovamma said she could register this achievement in spite of nagging leg pain because of the support of parents, brother, sister, and coach.

Poovamma said that some of her relatives were among those who lost everything in Kodagu deluge. She said she would extend as much help as she can, to them.
