Chikkaballapur, Sep 2: A man who killed his wife by banging her against the wall and made the propaganda that a cow has killed his wife, got his act exposed and was arrested by the police.

This incident is reported from Kondareddihalli of Gudibande taluk in the district. Ratnamma (42) is the unfortunate victim who was murdered by her own husband Soorappa Reddy.

Soorappa Reddy, husband of deceased Ratnamma had come home from the farm for lunch. He saw Ratnamma speaking on the mobile phone and got irate. The verbal duel between the couple crossed the limit and Soorappa slapped his wife Ratnamma on her face. Further, he caught hold of her head and banged it against the wall. Ratnamma collapsed due to the impact of the hit. Soorappa who did not foresee this turn of events took Ratnamma to the private hospital of Chikkaballapur. However, Ratnamma had breathed her last on the way to the hospital.

Soorappa Reddy got completely scared by this development and told the neighbours and relatives that Ratnamma died as a cow hit her head with its horn and quickly made all the arrangements to cremate her. However, Mahesh, brother of Ratnamma got some suspicion on the urgency shown by Soorappa in completing the cremation procedure and informed the same to the Gudibande police station. The police who immediately visited the spot conducted an inquiry and Soorappa came out with the truth.

Police have arrested Soorappa and further investigation is on.
