Belagavi, Sep 3: The anti terrorist squad (ATS) of Maharashtra, during its investigation, found that a person accused in the murder of veteran journalist, Gauri Lankesh near her residence at Bengaluru, was also involved with tossing of petrol bomb at Prakash theatre here in protest against exhibiting controversial Hindi movie, 'Padmavath'. The bomb had been tossed on January 25 this year.

The ATS, it is said, came to know that Sharad Kalaskar, arrested in connection with murders of Gauri Lankesh and Narendra Dabholkar from Maharashtra, who has also been accused of illegally holding firearms, was involved with the petrol bomb incident.

Central Bureau of Investigation had recently said that murders of rationalist from Maharashtra, Narendra Dabholkar, and journalist, Gauri Lankesh, were connected with each other. Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Karnataka had recently taken into custody a motor bike said to have been used during the murder of Gauri, from the residence of Sharad in Maharashtra recently. It is said that rightist organization activists, Vaibhav Raut and Sudhanwa Gaondhalekar were involved with Sharad Kalaskar in this act. Advocates representint ATS informed the sessions court at Pune that these persons were also involved with the attack on Bhanusagar talkies in Kalyan.

On January 25 this year, about four to five miscreants had hurled petrol bomb outside Prakash theatre at Belagavi, but luckily no one was hurt. The threatre had suffered partial damage.
