Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (DC)

Mangaluru, Sep 3: The BJP has gained its upper hand in the recently concluded urban and local body polls in coastal Karnataka by grabbing power in Udupi, Kundapur, Saligrama and Puttur.

Meanwhile, the Congress won in Bantwal Town Municipality and Ullal municipality though the electorate has given a fractured mandate. In Karkala, both the BJP and the Congress won equal seats. The BJP and the Congress won 11 seats in Karkala while one seat was bagged by an independent candidate.

The BJP grabbed power in Puttur municipality by winning 25 seats while the Congress won only 5 seats. In Bantwal, Congress won 12 seats while the BJP won 11 seats followed by SDPI with 4 seats. Modiji should increase the petrol price to Rs. 150 and Diesel to 140. Toll should be charged for all local people in Coastal region. All subsidy to fishing should be stopped immediately!. Then these coastal people will realize their blunder!
