Mangaluru: Unsuccessful theft attempt - thief thrashes house owners

Mangaluru, Sep 4: In an incident which happened at Ajjikan Katte in Yeyyadi here in the early hours of Sunday September 2, a man who was trying to commit burglary, sped away after attacking two house owners.

The thief concerned had attempted to steal things from the houses of Karunakar V M and Hariprasad from Ajjikan Katte.

The thief had scaled the roof of the house belonging to Karunakar in the wee hours on Sunday. When he was trying to steal the cable, the house owner got up. By then he tried to force open the window door of a neighbouring house belonging to Hariprasad. Hariprasad too woke up. At this, the accused began to flee. When Karunakar, Hariprasad, and some others tried to stop him, he attacked them with stones and succeeded in running away, it is gathered.

A case in this respect was filed in Kadri police station.
