Udupi, Sep 5: In a very surprising incident, a bumper catch of fish was reported at Amasekere sea side, Hejmady here. The rare phenomenon was witnessed here on Wednesday, September 5. Residents from nearby areas were seen rushing to pick the haul free from nature. Large amount of fish was seen washing up to the shore from the sea. People filled them in sacks and took in vehicles.

People of Amasekere were seen walking on the road along with bags filled with fish. People in nearby villages who came to know it came in vehicles and took away large quantity of fish.

Children, women and elderly all were seen beaming with smiles and loads of fish. According to locals, they rarely get fish in such huge quantity.

Fishermen on the other side were seen struggling to pull their net full of silver fish (Bolenjir) from the sea. Even though the sea shore was overcrowded, everybody was engrossed in catching fish.
