Mangaluru Sep 5: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel unveiled brand new Mahindra Marazzo at Karnataka Agencies’ Mahindra showroom, Kottara Chowki, in Mangaluru on Wednesday, September 5.

Addressing the gathering, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "In this competitive world, several companies have introduced their products in this coastal belt. Mahindra has always been the first choice of customers as it is an Indian technology brand. Mahindra car is manufactured in such a way that it is meant for Indian roads. We have dealers of all brands and several vehicle dealers have created job opportunities. Earlier, Mahindra Jeep was highest selling vehicle in this region. Let Mahindra Marazzo be the highest selling vehicle in coming days.”

CEO Karnataka Agencies R C Rodrigues welcomed the gathering, sales manager Delston Peter compered the programme, digital manager Ankith briefed about Mahindra Marazzo, partner Santhosh Rodrigues rendered vote of thanks.

Mahindra Marazzo will be available in four variants - M2, M4, M6, M8 and in six colours mariner maroon, poseidon purple, aqua marine, iceberg white, oceanic black and shimmering silver and will go up to Rs 13.99 lac.

Features of Mahindra Marazzo

Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) Ltd’s Marazzo is a passenger vehicle, with the base model priced at an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.99 lac. The top variant is priced at Rs 13.99 lac (ex-showroom all India).

The company has introduced four variants, all in diesel engines. The automatic and petrol variants will be introduced after the roll-out of BS-VI norms in 2020.

Developed in engineering collaboration between Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA), Detroit and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), Chennai, the Marazzo has been designed by Pininfarina, Italy, and Mahindra’s design studio in Mumbai. M&M has invested $200 million (more than Rs 1,400 crore) to develop the vehicle, which would compete with the Toyota Innova and Tata Hexa. It took four years for Mahindra to develop this vehicle, which has a completely new engine.

It is available both in seven and eight seater configurations. Its design is said to be inspired by a shark’s features.

With a 1.5 litre 4-cylinder engine, the vehicle offers an ARAI-certified mileage of 17.3 kmpl, according to the company.

Shark inspired design is evident in Marazzo in its sleek and stream lined silhouette in the front grille inserts which resemble the teeth of a shark, the tail lamps that are inspired by a shark's tail and a shark fin antenna. Marazzo style quotient is enhanced with projector headlamps, fog lamps with day time running lamps, elegant chrome finishes on exteriors, and twin spoke 17 machined alloy wheels.
