Bantwal: Delay in addressing issues - MLA takes Mescom officials to task

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Sep 6: Local MLA, Rajesh Naik Ulipady Guthu, took officials of Mescom to task severely at the office of the tahasildar here on Wednesday September 5. He was angry over complaints from the people about undue delay in attending to their work by Mescom officials.

Naik wanted to know why power supply gets severed to mini Vidhana Soudha frequently and why no permanent solution could be found to the problem. He posed them curt questions about sending back people approaching them with problems for reasons like no power supply, server not working, official not present to provide thumb, no computer rolls etc. "The officials are expected to solve the problems of the people. Instead, they are creating problems for the people. What is driving you to do this?" he wanted to know.

When questioned about not using generator when electricity supply goes off, the tahasildar said that there is no fuel. Naik said that it is the responsibility of the tahasildar to see that diesel is provided for the generator to function whenever needed. He asked the tahasildar to send him the bill if there is financial crunch at his office.

This Mescom as a monopol, takes full advantage of and plays as it wants. There should be many electric companys offers like us here ,so that we can choose any one who gives good service and energy all the time.Mescom doesnt touch any wires if not "offered " even lineman too same.Dont controll during monsoon time if wires are fallen on ground or in water. They simply dont have the service mind to people.Have to wait long time etc.Disgusting.Good that someone looks into it.They have many excuses, but no solutions.

This is called passing the buck. Mescom will blame God, rain, sun, moon etc for their inefficiency in restoring power.

Officials mindset should change or made to change.
They think they have power to enjoy and not to serve people.
Even the title should change from "Officer" or "Adhikari" to "People co- ordinators" or " People Support Specialists" Even people will understand that these people have been appointed to support people.
Any deviation should be seriously dealt with.

Mescom is the worst when it comes to coordinating with other departments. Have we not seen dozens of examples each year where tarmac road has electric post at the middle of road.....root cause for pot holes. When contractor finishes job he will take his equipment and will not return...may send a labor to fix the area when the lamp post is removes as a great favor. Mescom is the most user unfriendly department. Blame goes to all the power ministers of last couple of decades and the government babus of power depat who are lazy and corrupt to the core!!
