Udupi, Sep 8: To foster the children’s spirit of scientific inquiry and to supplement their quest for knowledge, the Nirmala English Medium School (NEMS) teachers and students joined hands to organise a 'Talents exhibition of modern generation'.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Eric Fernandes, a noted physician from primary health center Brahmavar. The school correspondent as well as the school principal were present for the function. The programme began with a prayer song. Archana of class 10 welcomed the gathering. A welcome song was sung by Sheethal’s group which was followed by the lighting of the lamp in a scientific method using a few chemicals.

The chief guest enlightened the students with valuable suggestions. The correspondent, Fr Victor Fernandes delivered a message to the students.

Vote of thanks was proposed.

It was a great opportunity for the students of NEMS to implement the things they had learnt and apply their ideas and present things differently in their own unique way. The chief guest and the other dignitaries present appreciated the various projects of the students. The way the students explained the functions to the viewers was very impressive. The entire auditorium was filled with numerous exhibits some of which are mentioned below.

Students from Nirmala Kannada Medium Primary School have a strength of 373 while Nirmala Kannada Medium High School has 75 students, SMS English Medium Primary School has 200 students.

Teachers from St Antony’s School Sastan and the parents of the students were present at the exhibition. It was a great day for the students at NEMS as they showcased their skills, knowledge and learnt more about the wonders of science and craft.
