Mangaluru: Why BJP silent on rising fuel prices, asks Ramanath Rai

Mangaluru, Sep 8: “Congress will observe Bharath Bandh on Monday, September 10 over rising fuel prices,” informed former minister Ramanath Rai here on September 8.

Addressing media persons here on Saturday, Ramanath Rai said, "The rising fuel rises has turned out to be a huge burden on common people. There is no control over the rising prices of petrol and diesel. During UPA government the crude oil price was 108.26 US dollar per barrel and petrol price was Rs 65 per litre. Now in 2018, crude oil price is US 65 US dollar per barrel and the petrol price is Rs 81.63 per litre,”

He further said, "When petrol price was Rs 65 per litre during UPA government, BJP blamed the government and held aggressive protest across the nation. But now BJP is mum on rising fuel prices when their own government is at the centre. People will show their anger by protesting on September 10 as we have called for Bharath bandh. Even the gas prices have skyrocketed to Rs 800 per cylinder compared to Rs 400 per cylinder during UPA government.”

“We should look back at the video clip of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech for his promises. Decreasing the fuel prices was also one among the promises he had made. When Modi said that ‘Acche Din Aayenge’, people had faith in him and today he has failed to fulfil the promises,” Rai said.

Ramanath Rai also urged people to show full support for the bandh as it is called with good motive.

"On September 11, Congress will take out a protest march from Shanthi Nilaya to DC office against Rafael deal,” concluded Ramanath Rai.

MLC Ivan D’souza, former MLAs J R Lobo, Mohideen Bava, former mayor Kavitha Sanil, corporator Vinayaraj, MCC chief whip Shashidhar Hegde and others were present.

Due to last 70years rule by chediless congress, which has borrowed too much money from world bank, & put India in a debt situation. Money is being hoarded by congress leaders and de-monetization is the form to flush out corrupt money, and Rupee got devaluation against USD only due to this.

Until the recent Rafael deal i was just ignoring the allegations on Mr. Modi government thinking that it is routine things happening with all the governments. But Rafael deal opens up one' eye as the deal was given to the sinking ship of Mr. A A as his business empire's situation is not good and the company in question was opened just weeks before the contract replacing 50+ years experienced public sector aeronautics company. It puts lot of questions and doubts start arising that all the recent price hikes demonetization and other things are corruption related and show bazi business. It is very sad that what is shown before election was horse and people slowly realizing that it is really donkey.

There is no point in bringing Ambani here. Ambani mint money only on gross refining margin. The huge profit is for central government and state government.Rupees 21 for central government and Rupees 19 for state government taxes for every liter of petrol we consume.Government should bring GST so that taxes can be reduced further to reduce burden to common man.If petrol/diesel prices increase will result in increase in price for transportation and which result in increased price for commodities.
