Bengaluru: Girish Karnad booked for holding ‘Me too urban naxal’ placard

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, Sep 8: Well known Jnanpith awardee, Girish Karnad, is in trouble for holding a placard with ‘Me too urban naxal’ written on it on the first death anniversary of activist and journalist Gauri Lankesh on Sep 5. A lawyer who is pleading the case for all those who are accused of her murder has lodged a police complaint against him on Friday, September 7.

Jan Jagriti Samiti and Sri Rama Sene too have complained against him asking for legal action with police commissioner T Suneel Kumar alleging that Girish Karnad abets naxalism.

Advocate Amrutesh N P demanded immediate arrest of Girish Karnad alleging that the placard around the neck of Girish Karnad that he is an urban naxal is intended to propagate, promote and abet violent criminal activities of naxals.

The police station at Vidhana Soudha has reportedly transferred the complaint to Halasur Gate police station as the incident took place in their jurisdiction. Several activists including Karnad took part in the event held outside the residence of late Lankesh. They also protested against house arrest of five activists who are allegedly linked with Maoists.

Look at the irony! Karnad is booked for a placard whereas the rabble founders like mutalik, anant kumar, togadia, etc. are scot free and continue to exhort people to hatred!

    Truth,

First, you need to know the whole truth about the reason why Naxals exist. Sitting in a city, with all the amenities within your reach, you could never understand what people from very rural places go through their daily lives.

'Urban Naxal' has no defined meaning; it is a creation by the media just like 'forcible conversion'. It shows the bankruptcy of common sense of the powers that be in arresting a vateran like Mr Karnad on such a flimsy ground.

BJP is under tremendous pressure from Rupee devaluation and Fuel price. Now the likes of Prakash Raj, Girish Karnad & Arundhati Roy can afford to speakup once again from the intermediate silence.
Even if Modi becomes PM from 2019, It would be NDA once again, that would tame Hindutva & Cow agenda significantly.

A life is lost, a person murdered and the arrests were done after months !! The real master mind is still moving around freely !

MrGirish Karnad holds a placard and these uneducated , jobless goons are all set to put him behind bars !

Which is a bigger crime ? Murdering someone or holding a placard ?

    Deepak,
A citizen cannot claim himself to be a "Murderer", "Naxal", "Terrorist", "Bomber", "killer", and not invite legal trouble. I am sure Girish Karnad was making a point and taking a stand. But you cannot and do not make light of those bad things. I think it is right to bring a legal action against him.

For example, one will be arrested if he or she made any comments about "Bombs" while in an airport or inside the plane. Those are sensitive issues and cannot be made light of.

"Dr.S.Kamath, Mumbai " Okay, lets agree with your statement about Mr Prakash Rai !

My question to you is where were you doing the Kerala floods ? Did you as a Indian citizen offer a helping hand to Kerala ? You may answer that you are busy as you're a Doctor , however ,did you contribute atleast anything financially to the affected state ?

That is the joke of the year: "In kerala RSS/SEva bharathi done a very good job. No other team worked hard ."
They worked hard on social media and Photoshop, taking photos from other states and even of army rescue operations in Kerala and adding some saffron colour and blurring the sign boards. The divide and rule attempts of the RSS flopped miserably in Kerala as all Indians worked as one to save their Indian brothers and sisters!
