Bengaluru, Sep 9: Dr G Parameshwar, deputy chief minister (DCM), suddenly cancelled the breakfast meeting he intended to have with the Congress MLAs.
Parameshwar made an attempt to show his hold in the party indirectly by conducting this meeting of ministers and MLAs of the party. However he cancelled this at the last moment.
It is learnt that Parameshwar was compelled to cancel the meeting as rumours spread that if the meeting is conducted when former minister Siddaramaiah is on a foreign tour, it may send wrong signals to the Congress high command.
The breakfast meet was intended to discuss Lok Sabha polls strategy.
Siddaramaiah has gone on a trip to Europe with his family members.
