Udupi: Milagres College Kallianpur conducts inter-collegiate seminar competition

Udupi, Sep 14: Late V Rev Fr G L D’Cruz Memorial inter-collegiate seminar competition was held at Milagres College, Kallianpur by the Science Association.

Sr Pavithra D’Souza and group seeked God’s blessing on the programme by singing a prayer song.

President of the Science association Aarazoo welcomed the gathering.

Prof Subramanya Joshi, dean of science faculty and HOD of Chemistry delivered presidential remarks.

Arenza Karen Sequeira, convener of Science Association and HOD of Physics introduced the chief guest to the gathering and also briefed on the history of Late V Rev Fr G L D’Cruz Memorial Competition.

Chief Guest of the programme Dr John Sherra, former vice-principal and HOD of Mathematics, St Aloysius College, Mangaluru addressed the gathering and recalled the days spent with Fr G L D’Cruz.

Sofiya D’Souza, secretory of Science Association delivered the vote of thanks for the inaugural function.

Guest of Honour for the valedictory programme, Prof Joseph Peter Fernandes, associate professor, department of Chemistry encouraged the students to participate more and more in various Competitions.

Prizes for Physics seminar and Chemistry seminar were sponsored by association of Physics teachers of Mangalore University and association of Chemistry teachers of Mangalore University respectively.

Vivekananda College, Puttur won the championship trophy and MGM College, Udupi won the runners up trophy.

Ramya, treasurer of Science association gave the vote of thanks to the valedictory programme.

Kavya Pai, Smitha Pinto, Keerthi Shetty and Kavya compered the entire programme. Lunch was sponsored by Prof Subramanya Joshi, dean of Science faculty and HOD of Chemistry.
