Mangaluru: Ganesha Chaturthi celebrated at Expert PU College, Valachil

Mangaluru, Sep 15: On September 13 morning, on the auspicious occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, a grand function was held at the cultural centre of Expert PU College in valachil, Mangaluru.

The chants of ‘Ganapathi Bappa Morya’ rent the air as the students gathered for the Ganapathi pooja at the temple premises in the college. The pooja was conducted by the temple priest Ramesh and the students devoutly recited Bhajans and Vedic verses ceremoniously.

Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions offered Silver Kadike Hara and Silver Rudrakshi Mala to Lord Ganesha on that occasion.

Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman and Ankush N Nayak, director, information technology, Expert Group of Institutions were present.

Addressing the college students Principal Dr N K Vijayan Karippal said that rich Indian culture manifests through celebration of festivals. So, students need to strengthen these celebrations by being a part of it and continuing the traditions.

During the programme various cultural events were performed by the students. The I PUC students, Aniketh Hegde and Samrudhi gave a speech on the occasion and Amoghavarsha and Maahiya compered the programme.

The celebrations concluded with sumptuous feast in the afternoon.
