Indian arrested in Nepal with banned currency notes


Kathmandu, Sep 17 (IANS): A 55-year-old Indian national has been arrested in Nepal's Kanchanpur district with banned Indian currency notes, the police said.

Acting on a special tip off, the police arrested Satman Singh from Belauri area on Sunday evening and recovered Indian currency notes worth Rs 200,000 of Rs 500 denomination, the Himalayan Times reported on Monday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Raj Ojha said an investigation into the incident was underway.
