BJP members rough up auto driver for asking about fuel price

Chennai, Sep 17 (IANS): An autorickshaw driver here was allegedly assaulted by BJP members when he asked the party's state President about rising oil prices.

The Bharatiya Janata Party's Tamil Nadu chief, Tamilisai Soundararajan, was addressing the media here on Sunday when an autorickshaw driver, Kadir, who was standing behind her, asked her about the rising fuel prices.

While Sundararajan ignored the question and kept facing the camera unperturbed, BJP members near her pushed him back and later pulled him away.

Soundararajan had earlier complained to Tuticorin airport authorities about a young woman, Sofia, who shouted anti-BJP slogans inside an aircraft.

The police took Sofia into custody but got bail the next day.

Empty slogan “Ajay Bharat, Atal BJP” made its debut as a replacement for "achhe din".

This auto driver had to pay Rs 150 as rent for his auto to the owner and was only able to save Rs 300 after paying for petrol every day. According to him, the money earned by him everyday was inadequate to run his family. Sometimes, he added, he doesn’t have enough money to pay the rent for his auto rickshaw.

What was even more astonishing was state party chief Tamilisai Soundararajan behaviour as she kept smiling at the poor man being dragged by her supporters.

Incidentally, after getting elected on both promises of mythical “achhe din” and much ballyhooed “good governance”these are now banned words in the BJP.

Perhaps this auto driver is the first victim of free speech against price rise under the new slogan of “Ajay Bharat, Atal BJP”.

Until now Muslims of are 'lynched' in the cow protection. Now for merely expressing his angst over price hike in fuel price currently prevalent amongst auto drivers.

First rouge in petrol pricing is central Govt., now in Karnataka the State Govt. reduced tax today but petrol station not reducing prices, they say no order. If price as to go up if there is news only without order the petrol station will increase price. Today after state Govt. reduced tax on petrol station in Mangalore not decreasing price they say no order. So the second rouge is the petrol station they only know to increase price not to decrease price, they are champions in adulterating petrol too.

Foolish auto driver! Does he not know that raising voice against BJP will invite trouble? He must read newspaper properly... along with rising fuel prices, those who raise voice against the BJP are being suppressed and imprisoned.
