Bengaluru, Sep 28: After the triumph in winning elections to both the Rajarajeshwarinagar and Jayanagar assembly constituencies soon after this year’s assembly polls, the ruling JD(S)-Congress coalition parties have ensured the victory of their candidates.
M C Venugopal, Nazeer Ahmed (both Congress) and H M Ramesh Gowda (JD-S) have been elected unopposed as Members of the Karnataka Legislative Council.
With the Opposition BJP, which could not succeed in its bid to pull down the HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition government, had decided not to field candidates in the elections to the Upper House from the Legislative Assembly constituency at the last minute.
