Rahul attacks ABVP for insulting MP professor

New Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday criticised activists of the right-wing student body Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for insulting a senior professor of in Madhya Pradesh.

"A teacher was insulted by student leaders of ruling party in Mandsaur. A professor is touching the feet of the students who are threatening them. What kind of sacraments is being followed in the country where teachers are regarded as God. What kind of treatment is this...," Gandhi tweeted.

According to news reports, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) affiliated student organisation ABVP activists called the government college professor in Mandsaur "anti-national" when he asked them not to raise slogans outside his classroom.

A video that emerged on Thursday showed the professor, apparently upset, running after ABVP activists to touch their feet even as they tried to stop him.

    Insult of a guru by the leaders of the BJP student wing ABVP in Mandsaur is shameful. It should be noted that newly elected DU President Ankiv Baisoya, who won the presidential post, got admission into Delhi University’s postgraduate Buddhist Studies programme on the basis of marksheets allegedly issued by Thiruvalluvar University.In an attempt to refute allegations that his Bachelor of Arts degree from Thiruvalluvar University in Tamil Nadu’s Vellore is fake, ABVP’s Ankiv Baisoya, the newly-elected Delhi University Students’ Union president, has spoken to the media and said that he studied “several types of subjects” at the university between 2013 and 2016 just like 'Entire politicl science' by our Prime Minsiter which is still to be probed.

    Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu who is considered to be Guru Devo Maheshwar, what is this 'Sanskar' that the students of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh student wing ABVP threaten and the Guru touches their feet. How does this work with knowledge?

    In Mahabharata Eklavya cut his thumb and offered to guru Dronacharya as 'guru dakshina'. In PM Modi's India Guru is forced touching the feet of the students.

    Where ever there is BJPeee and it's ABVP, education has gone to dogs!. They are not at all interested in studies but always into some kind of criminal activities on the campuses!. If a teacher is INSULTED, that means you are insulting your Mother and Motherland!. Any wonder we have already become rape and lynching capital of the world!!!???
