Vijayapura, Oct 3: Alleging that her family has been facing social boycott at the hands of powerful leaders, a student streamed her suicide attempt through Facebook live. The incident happened at Hanchainala Tanda in the district on Tuesday October 2.

The girl, identified as Lata Chandu Chauhan, who consumed excessive doses of sleeping pills, stands admitted into a private hospital. Before consuming pills, she streamed her statement which was widely circulated through the social media.

Lata claims she had written letters to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and the then chief minister, Siddaramaiah, about her family's plight. She claimed that even after getting instructions from the chief minister's office, the officials did not evince interest in mitigating the pain and sorrow of her family. "Enemies of my family, who claim to be supporters of former minister, M B Patil, have been heaping atrocities on my family. This has adversely affected my educational aspirations. Therefore, I have decided to end my life," she stated.

The deputy commissioner here however said that this is not a case of social boycott but an issue relating to property dispute between two families.

Just instructing officials is no use. Do you think by instruction you get justice? As it is the State subject of maintaining law and order why MODI should interfere?, then chaddiless ppl like you say Centre is not allowing state to run tha govt. As the problem of this particular incident is created by chaddiless MLA who is from nidderamayya camp has not taken any action as it will effect his chair. So he was worried about chair and not of this girl.
