Bengaluru: JMB terrorist plot, security of Buddhist temples and structures increased

Bengaluru, Oct 3: In a shocking discovery, it has come to light that the Jamat-Ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terrorist organization, which was operating its base since three years in the state under the leadership of terrorist Kausar, had an eye on bombing the Buddha Vihar at Kalaburagi.

As the news of the intention of Kausar and his JMB gang of destroying religious places and camps of Buddhists has come to light, police have beefed up the protection in and around the Buddhist temples, structures, and camps in the state.

The state police department, which conducted an internal meeting on Monday, October 1 has directed a team of the intelligence squad to visit the Buddha Vihar in Kalaburagi and collect the information. The police department has dispatched the intelligence team asking them to report on the ground reality at the structure and also the actions taken for the security of the structure. In addition, the sources have also said that police teams will be dispatched to the famous Buddha Vihar centre at Bailukuppe near Kushalnagar and Kollegal and the Tibetan camp at Mundagod of Uttara Kannada district.

Report on security around Buddha Vihars and camps

The police have got the information, during interrogation that JMB terrorist Kausar, who is considered as the mastermind behind the three IED bomb blasts that took place at the Kalachakra grounds near Bodh Gaya on January 19, had resided in Ramanagar and Bengaluru for several years and visited three Buddha Vihars and Tibetan camps in the state. The state intelligence department, which got alerted due to the unearthing of this shocking information, is taking steps to hold an internal inquiry in this connection.

Verbal information is already relayed to the local police to increase the protection and keep an eye on the activities around three Buddha Vihar centers in the state and also the Tibetan camps at Bailukuppe and Mundagodu. Once the report from the intelligence team is received by the state police department, steps will be taken to take further action in this regard as per the information given by one of the top police officers of the state.

Security level to be increased for Dalai Lama

In view of the unearthing of the shocking plot by the JMB terror group, the state police have decided to provide fool-proof security to Buddhist religious leader Dalai Lama during his future visits to the state. Giving details in this regard, Kamal Pant, additional director general of police of Karnataka state, said, "Whenever Dalai Lama visits the state in future, additional security cover will be given to him as per the directions of the Central Intelligence Department.

Watch to be kept on Rohingya Muslims

The state intelligence department, which has woken up after the arrest and shocking revelations of JMB terrorist Kausar, has got the details of the Rohingya Muslims population living in the state and also tracking their movements. As per the details available so far, there are 177 Rohingya Muslims in the state. It is confirmed that they all have entered the state legally according to the immigration laws of the country.

Though there are thousands of Rohingyas living unofficially, they are not located. These people are working in various parts of the state in minor jobs including the construction industry. So far no one, who is residing unofficially are found and the information is being gathered in this regard as per the information available from the reliable sources.
