Mumbai, Oct 3: Bharath Co-operative Bank after competitions for the board of directors for the period 2018-2021 held elections for the posts on Tuesday October 2. There were 19 aspirants for 17 seats in the board with 22 positions including two women, two co-opted and one seat reserved for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe.
Bharath Bank has 102 branches and functions as multi state bank in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat states.
Nineteen candidates who were in the fray were Ameen Lingappa Venkappa, Ameen Somanath Babu, Sathish N Bangera, Kotian Jaya Aithappa, Kotian Premanath Prameshwar, Kotian Purushotham Srinivas, Kotian Vasudeva Raju, Kunder Damodar Chandu, Poojary Narayana Thimma, Poojary Gangadhar Jarappa, Poojary Koragappa Booba, Poojary Mohandas Angara, Poojary Shivaji Uppooru, Salian Bhasker Muddu, Suvarna Jaya Chandu, Suvarna Jyothi Krishna, Suvarna Narayana Karnad, Suvarna Rohith Mohanchandra and Suvarna Suryakanth.
It is said that 13,958 votes were cast. The results will be known in Mumbai on October 4 and will be officially published by election officials on October 5.
