Mangaluru: Two arrested in blackmail and extortion case

Mangaluru, Oct 3: Urwa police arrested two persons in Bengaluru on charges of blackmail and extortion on October 2.

Aditya alias Ashwini (19), a resident of Yashavanthapur and Arun H S (27) from Kanakapur in Ramanagar are the arrested.

The main accused in the case, with a fake account in the name of Aradhya used to approach victims and extort money from them. As per the complainant, the duo had extorted Rs 65,000 cash in Yashavanthapur. Later on, the accused used to call the complainant approaching them as senior police officers and politicians.

The operation was carried out by Urwa police under the guidance of Mangaluru police commissioner T R Suresh, ACP (Crime) Uma Prashanth and ACP Uday Nayak.
