Panaji, Oct 10: Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar will meet alliance partners in his government on October 12 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, where he is currently taking treatment.
Parrikar, 62, is being treated for pancreatic ailment at AIIMS since last month.
“The alliance partners have been called for a meeting by the CM in Delhi on October 12 at AIIMS where he is admitted,” a senior chief minister’s office said.
He said that the chief minister would discuss 'matters related to the governance of the state during the meeting in Delhi'.
Maharashtrawadi Gomantak party leader Sudin Dhavalikar, Goa Forward Party leader Vijai Sardesai and independent MLAs Govind Gawade, Rohan Khaunte and Prasad Gaonkar, who are supporting BJP-led alliance in Goa, are invited for the meeting.
“I have been invited for the meeting in Delhi on October 12 with the chief minister. I do not know who else is invited,” Gawade said adding that the agenda for the meeting has not been told to the invitees.
This would be the first formal meeting chaired by Parrikar after his admission at AIIMS since last month.
Highly placed sources stated that the chief minister would be distributing additional portfolios to the cabinet ministers during this week.
“The meeting is likely to discuss about the portfolios that would be distributed for alliance partners,” a source said.
BJP national president Amit Shah, last month, while announcing that Parrikar would continue as the chief minister had said that there would be reshuffle in the cabinet.
After his announcement, two ailing ministers – Francis D’Souza and Pandurang Madkaikar – were dropped from the cabinet and they were replaced with Milind Naik and Nilesh Cabral.
