Panaji: Rohit Monserratte Remanded to Three Days Judicial Custody

Panaji, Nov 6: State education minister Atanasio Monserratte's son Rohit has been remanded for three days police custody by a local court here.

Rohit who surrendered before Calangute police on Tuesday November 4 afternoon and later arrested was produced before Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Mapusa.

The court remanded him to three days police custody.

The 21-year-old Monserratte has been accused of raping a minor German girl. 

Advocate Arun Braz de Sa appearing for Rohit contended police do not require the custody of his client as they have nothing more to attach or record in the case.

The police had moved the court seeking seven days remand for Rohit. 

Rohit is in deep trouble following accusation by a German mother that Rohit had raped her 14-year-old minor daughter.
