SC allows conditional sale of firecrackers, fixes timings for bursting

New Delhi, Oct 23(DC): The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to direct blanket ban on sale of firecrackers in the country but directed that only "green" firecrackers will be sold and manufactured which are less polluting.

The court however, banned the selling of series firecrackers and allowed for their bursting only in designated places and fixed the timing for bursting of firecrackers as well.

The court has fixed 8 pm to 10 pm time period for bursting of firecrackers on Diwali and other festivals.

The apex court banned the online sale of firecrackers and restrained e-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart from selling firecrackers.

David, sabrimala is the issue of one communities faith.,.. dont compare that to this... we have our own faith and every hindu agree on this.... what is your problem.. there are few faiths even in christians which according to future generation is not correct... so we cant say that you should stop believing your religion faith or even sc cant decide that.... so stop speaking about shabarimale issue.. its not hurting any women ... we are happy with our faith
here the issue is of environment which will effect all mankind... and SC has to take a stiff decision to ban it....
